Wacomtablet 6.2.0w4.dmg
Graphire 4 CTE-640 and El Capitan OSX 10.11 here. I have been trying various solutions online all day but always had one of two errors: either got the 'could not load Wacom Tablet preference pane,' or got a preference pane that said 'a supported tablet was not found on the system.' Tried a ton of different things for about the past 4 hours, but finally found a driver that worked for me (btw, i kept getting a 404 error when trying to access the legacy driver linked above, not sure if wacom actually just took it down, or because it's a US site and I'm trying to access it from Japan). Anyway:

I upgraded to El Capitan from Yosemite and this is the only driver that works for me: WacomTablet615-2.dmg if you can find it. (It also got me from Maverick to Yosemite). The current one (615-3) did not work. Luckily I always archive any.dmg file that works just in case.
Supports the new Cintiq 24HD. Also supports the Intuos4 WL, the USB versions of all Intuos4 (PTK), Intuos3 (PTZ) and Intuos2 (XD) pen. This should work for Bamboo, Bamboo Comic,Bamboo Craft Pen & Touch, Bamboo Fun Pen & Touch, Bamboo Manga, Bamboo One, Bamboo Pen, Bamboo Pen & Touch, Cintiq 17SX, DTF-510, DTF-720 / PL-720, DTU-710, Graphire Bluetooth, Graphire3, and Graphire4. I hope this works for you so you can celebrate as I just did; and you can be sure that I'm saving the dmg to avoid this frustration in the future.
So back in October, I purchased a brand new Macbook Pro Retina (MBPr), fully loaded with top of the line specs. I was soooo excited to have Thunderbolt 2 tech which Intel AND Apple describes as having DisplayPort 1.2a compatibility - which up to this point is unfortunately NOT the case. The point of the information/questions and requests in this article is to engage a conversation about the issues of not having MST support after Apple falsely mislead their consumers to think otherwise - especially when it is clear the MBPr is capable. Please read on...
Apple advertises that the Thunderbolt 2 ports on BOTH the MBPr and the new Mac Pro (NMP) will have 4K Display support with the famed 20gb/sec Ports (DisplayPort 1.2 only requires a little above 17gb/sec). Now that the 10.9.1 update has been released, we have failed to see MST or Multi-Stream Transport enabled on the MBPr Late 2013. Now, as for the New Mac Pro- it DOES have MST enabled in 10.9.1 with the AMD GPUs. For all of you out there that's questioning what this means, short answer is basically the Mac Pro will be able to power a 4K Monitor at 60Hz through the Thunderbolt 2 Port but the New MBPr is stuck with only HDMI 1.4 support which tops out at 4K 30Hz. 30Hz is unacceptable for anything but movies or a photo slideshow. At 30Hz the cursor will jump across the screen, eliminating any of the benefits of 4K.
BUT it gets worse...
Apple can be seen advertising that the new MBPr 15' model can power a 4K monitor THROUGH the Thunderbolt 2 Port here: http://www.apple.com/thunderbolt - This article quotes the following:
'Now with Thunderbolt 2 built into the new Mac Pro and MacBook Pro with Retina display, you can connect the latest 4K desktop displays and get double the bandwidth for your peripherals. And the two generations of Thunderbolt technology are compatible with each other.'
Does this not let the consumer assume that the newest MBPr will be able to drive a 4K display through the Thunderbolt 2 Port? I would say yes it does, but at the time I wrote this, the TB2 Ports can't power a 4K display because, as previously stated, MST is disabled in Mavericks for the 15' MBPr Late 2013.
NOW, later on Apple posted the following article on 4K support here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT6008
4K support on the MacBook Pro (Retina, Late 2013)
MacBook Pro supports 4K displays and Ultra HD TVs at the following resolutions and refresh rates with the built-in HDMI port:
3840 x 2160 at 30 Hz refresh rate
4096 x 2160 at 24 Hz refresh rate (mirroring is not supported at this resolution)
In the article above the New Mac Pro is listed as having support for a 4K Display with the Thunderbolt 2 Port (or MST DisplayPort 1.2a Technology) at 60Hz with no problem. This leads myself and many others to believe that MST will NEVER be enabled on the newest MacBook Pro Retina with Nvidia GPUs. Yes, 4K IS supported but ONLY through the HDMI 1.4 port, which has the limitation of only 30hz. This two-faced advertising is extremely upsetting to a LOT of people, including myself.
Interestingly enough, THIS IS NOT a hardware issue. If one ventures into Windows 8.1 via Bootcamp and connects a 4K Display via the Thunderbolt 2 (or through DP1.2) Port, the Display registers at 60Hz, thus proving that the Thundberbolt 2 Hub Controller is completely capable of MST DisplayPort functionality. Clearly this a driver issue with Apple, Nvidia or Intel or any combination. What Apple has done here is forcing any professional that desires stable and clear 4K technology through their MacBook Pro Retina to do so only using Windows 8.1 on their own machines! Definitely an oxymoron if you ask me...
Later on when the Mac Pro was ready for ordering, Apple placed the Sharp PN-K321 as a compatible option for a 4K Display. On the Store page featuring the (over three thousand dollar) Sharp 4K display, located here http://store.apple.com/us/product/HD971LL/A/sharp-32-pn-k321-4k-ultra-hd-led-mon itor?fnode=53 Apple states the following:
'Note that 4K DisplayPort operation is only compatible with the new Mac Pro (Late 2013).'
All of that being said, and I'm terribly sorry for my wordy ranting...
This brings me to a final two requests to ANYONE reading this post:
a) Has anyone working with the new 10.9.2 Beta Update seen evidence that DisplayPort 1.2 capabilities will be enabled for the new MacBook Pro Retina (Nvidia 750M) with the promised 'Graphics Driver Updates' within the next Mavericks update?
and
b) To others that purchased or were/are thinking of purchasing a new MacBook Pro Retina with TB2 Ports: If you are just as upset as me about this crushing blow to consumers that just purchased a $3,000 laptop that were promised something that wasn't delivered - I urge you please, write to Apple and let them know they are making a mistake. You can do this though the support page or through http://www.apple.com/feedback
Thank you for your precious time, and if anyone has anything to contribute to this issue, please jump in....

GOOD NEWS!
The Mavericks 10.9.3 update adds official support for Thunderbolt 2, 4K!
I'm not sure if you will be able to daisy chain anything to the 4K display. I've read that the design of Thunderbolt 2 includes support for DisplayPort 1.2 multi-stream (MST), which allows this type of daisy chaining with 4K, but we don't know if Apple has this supported on it's machines. Apparently it's been buggy in development because the graphics driver needs to work correctly with the Thunderbolt 2 host controller. I'm sure they will work it out if they haven't already.
The above is all via found information on this topic, but you can follow some more discussion here:
http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=1713876
One more note on Thunderbolt worth sharing: always keep your fastest peripherals closer to the computer in the chain. If you have a TB1 device directly connected to the computer, anything further down the chain will be limited to TB1 speed/capability regardless of it's native speed. Always connect TB2 devices first, and save anything TB1 for the end of the chain.

why i don't install mac os x maverick for macbook pro retina later 2013?
Welcome to Apple Support Communities
The Late 2013 MacBook Pro already comes with OS X Mavericks. However, if you try to download OS X Mavericks from the Mac App Store, you will get a message telling you that your MacBook Pro is not compatible, when it is.
This is caused because the Late 2013 MacBook Pro is running a special OS X Mavericks version which is different than the version available in the Mac App Store. This makes that you get an error message when you try to download OS X Mavericks even when you are using it.
Instead of downloading OS X Mavericks from the Mac App Store, you can still download OS X Mavericks to reinstall OS X through OS X Recovery > http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4718 You will be able to download OS X Mavericks from the Mac App Store when your MacBook Pro uses the same version as all other MacsHi everyone, this is my first Mac and for the most part it's been really, really wonderful.
This is my first major glitch: I cannot get it to detect my external display: It is an ASUS PA248Q, manufactured Aug 2012.
The HDMI cable according to my Amazon history is at least 1.3c from 2010, 'Fanatic Digital Imperial Series Gold-Plated HDMI Cable (6 feet)'.
It works with perfectly connecting an AmazonTV box to an old Samsung TV, with vivid clarity, unlike our cableTV signal.
Just in case, I have a new HDMI cable on order, which claims to be of newest standards.
The Macbook Pro Retina (late 2013) has the standard Intel Iris from the Haswell chips, as well as Nvidia GT 750M, the latter which I don't think has been used yet.
The ASUS display says: HDMI NO SIGNAL.
I have tried shutting them down and replugging the cable. I don't know what the ideal order is. The Macbook Pro is plugged into AC power, as suggested.
In System Preferences>Display, I press the Option key to select 'Detect Displays' option (seriously unintuitive).
I have also tried resetting the NVRAM:
I shut the machine down. Pressed the power button, then quickly held the quadruplet: Option-Command-P-R (a double handful) and waited for the machine to chime a 2nd time. Tried to detect external display no luck.
Next, I reset the SMC:
I shut the machine down. Then I pressed Shift-Control-Option-Power for about 5 to 10s. Then I turned on the machine normally.
NVRAM & SMC steps were from an old youtube video, as the instructions I had did not explain how to do so clearly.
Please let me know if I'm doing something wrong.
Seems so exorbitant to pay $350 for Apple Care; that's a the cost for a whole new cheap laptop.
I will search the forums again. If anyone answers this, thank so much!Hello there, willr314.
It sounds like you've covered most of the practical steps found in this Knowledge Base article:
Apple computers: Troubleshooting issues with video on internal or external displays
http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1573#1
No video or no signal, image distortion, 'snow,' or flickering
Check connections
When using an external display be sure to check the following:
If you're using an Apple notebook, confirm the AC power cable or adapter is securely connected to the computer and the cable providing power to the display is also secure. It is always good to have your notebook connected to AC power when an external display is in use.
Confirm display adapters are fully seated in their respective connections and that they are supported models and for the computer and display. Refer to these articles to assist you with adapter compatibility and further configuration information:

About Mini DisplayPort to HDMI adapters
Apple Mini DisplayPort adapters: Frequently asked questions (FAQ)
Thunderbolt ports and displays: Frequently asked questions (FAQ)
Remove all display cable extenders, KVM switches, or other like devices and retest to determine if the issue is resolved.
Try unplugging the video adapter or cable and then plug it back in.
If more than one video adapter is in use (or 'daisy-chained'), troubleshoot by using only one adapter.
Example: A mini DisplayPort to DVI adapter connected to a DVI to HDMI adapter is an unsupported configuration because there is a series of adapters in use.
If available, try using a different display and or adapter (or use a different connector by using DVI instead of VGA, for instance).
Reset the system
You can reset the Mac's parameter RAM and SMC.Reset the resolutionStart by resetting the Mac's parameter RAM. If the display does not come up, was previously set to an unsupported resolution, and still results in no video:
Start up in Safe Mode.
From the Apple () menu, choose System Preferences.
Choose Displays from the View menu to open the preferences pane.
Select any resolution and refresh rate that your display supports.
Restart your computer.

Pedro.Hi guys,
Just bought the new 13' Macbook Pro Retina Late 2013 with 8GB RAM and 256SSD.
Installed CS6 with all patches and retina update but performance is appaling. Im editing a Nikon D800 file which I know is heavy, but when zoomed in at 100% and using the healing brush it is unusable. There is so much lag on the brush it takes a second after i lift my pen for the stroke to be finishes.
Happening in Scaled & Best for Retina screen modes.
My 2005 Core 2 Duo laptop with 4GB of ram and windows 7 did this without hiccups, so I cant believe this brand new laptop cant do it.
Any ideas? Its really unusable now.
CheersHere is the email I got from Wacom.
This is the person that contacted me after I sent them an email
Dick,
If you downloaded and installed the latest Mac OS X driver, it will not work with your Intuos2 tablet. If you OS X is 10.6+, here are driver directions to follow for a clean install and a link to the last driver:
Open your Applications folder and locate any Tablet or Wacom Tablet folders you have
Use the Utility in each of these folders and click ‘Remove’ under ‘Tablet Software’
Once the software is removed, restart the computer
After restarting, download and install the latest 6.20 driver from:http://cdn.wacom.com/U/drivers/mac/pro/WacomTablet_6.2.0w4.dmg
As always, make sure your tablet is connected directly to your computer.
Avoid using USB hubs, keyboard/monitor ports, or docking stations with the tablets, as they can cause inconsistent behavior.

I have the Macbook Pro EFI Firmware Update (Version 1.3), which was apparently installed as of November 8th. I've read that it is supposed to fix the problem, which is odd because the issue did not start for me until after I had the update. Would be grateful for some help. Thank you.
(Currently, I'm using my Logitech Cordless Click Optical Mouse as a replacement.)I also have experienced the same problem even though I have installed the update.
I have asked Apple to ring me for a discussion today, however, not sure what can be done if the fix doesn't do what its supposed to do.
Happy days (my first Macbook pro) not so happy!!!
I would be grateful for any thoughts as to how I can prevent the lockups

If the installer of version 10.9 is already in the application folder it can't be updated for the same reason.
I've seen that they are two versions of the updater that are downloadable from apple's website and one is specific for the MacBook Pro retina late 2013.
I suspect that the installer in the App Store is not an universal installer. It is stupid because you can't reinstall that Mac is needed.
I phoned to Apple (AppleCare) and they don't know why this happens.Hello,
Try to boot the 15' MBPr as target when connected to your MBA (if you have the right cables and adapters).
From the MBA, install on the 15' MBPr's disk, in that order :
The 10.9.1 update for Mavericks except MBPr
Download
and then the 10.9.1 update for Mavericks specific for MBPr
Download
The MBPr should be bootable again. I did it for an external HD.
Hope this helps.

Airplay peer-to-peerHi
I have a MacBook Pro Retina (Late 2013) with enabled File Vault on OS X Mavericks. When I boot up the mac freshly it takes quite long to get to the initial login screen (which as I understand is a pre-boot login provided by the recovery partition if File Vault is enabled). However, what is even more bothering me is that once I get to this screen, the whole UI is behaving extremely slow. The mouse makes jumps of a few inches on the screen and the animations (e.g. if you click a user and then an animation shows the password entry field) are running in slow motion and only update every few seconds. Typing the password afterwards runs smothly again (altought for example moving the mouse at this point still behaves as described before). After loggin in to the account OS X runs fine without any hicks. Can anyone give me a hit what this could be and how I could resolve this?
This has already been done:
Reset PRAM
Boot into recovery partition and run repaired disk and disk permissions
Run all OS X maintenance operations and cleared caches using OnyX
What I could imagine is that somehow the recovery partition is damaged (which as I understand is used to boot to the login screen if File Vault is enabled).
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
ChrisJust ordered a Retina MacBook Pro11,2 (mid-2014 15', 2.2GHz Intel Core i7, 16GB RAM, 512GB SSD, OSX 10.9.4 Pre-installed - Build 13E28) and have the exact same issue. The first thing I did when i booted it for the first time was enable FileValut2 and encrypt the disk. Though I failed to notice this behavior prior to encrypting the disk, the stuttering/lag happens without fail every time I have logged in from a cold boot, locked screen or sleep. Additionally I have noticed the same stuttering behavior when switching tabs on various built-in OSX applications such as the tabs on the About This Mac > More Info.... (System Information) dialog for example, and similarly other dialogs that experience this behavior of resizing when switching tabs. I was running no other software than About This Mac > More Info ... (System Information) and OSX 10.9.4 itself. The issue happens without fail with and without a USB mouse plugged in.
I am really glad to have found this thread and with such recent posts. I'd love to find out that this is just a software bug that will be fixed when OSX 10.10 'Yosemite' is released. If not, I hope the cause of this bug is determined soon so I can still exchange or have it repaired.
Migflono and Matthew, would you be able to post your hardware specs for comparison? Is there a known issue with Microsoft Office 2011 and the 15' MacBook Pro (Retina, late-2013)? Specifically, is there an issue with how MS Office (e.g., MS Word) displays one the Retina screen?
Thank you.If you used VMware Fusion to install Windows, first make sure you have installed VMware Tools in Windows. Read > http://kb.vmware.com/selfservice/microsites/search.do?language=en_US&cmd=display KC&externalId=1003417
Then, you will be able to change the Windows resolution as usual. In Windows, right-click in the desktop and select 'Screen resolution'. There are other ways to do this > http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-8/get-best-display-monitor.
There are not best recommended settings because it depends on the hardware of your computer: for example, if you have got 8 GB of RAM, you can assign 4 GB of RAM to the virtual machine (depending on the applications you use), or if you have got a Quad-Core processor with Hyper-Threading, you can assign more processor threads to the virtual machine so you can improve performance.Could you replace your batteries in a 13in MacBook Pro Retina Late 2013 yourself?
If not, could Apple replace them at a fee or could I go to a third party shop?
Also, how long or how much cycles does a battery last?
I was planning to buy a macbook and was taking that into consideration.http://www.apple.com/support/macbookpro/batteries_power/
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1446#ServicingI have just bought a 15inch macbook pro retina late 2013. on the site it mentiones that on the side there are dual microphones but no matter how hard and close i look at the side where the two thunderbolts, headphone jack, USB and Magsafe are i can not see them!!!
any one else have this issue, have i missed something???? have apple decided to cover these two little holes? There might be some confusion about the dual array microphone:
http://www.gottabemobile.com/2013/12/03/13-inch-macbook-pro-retina-review-late-2 013/
'For video chats Apple includes a dual array microphone, with both microphones sitting on the left side of the notebook.'
That's those two tiny black dots on the left side. Must be some kind of phased array to track multiple people talking like for FaceBook.
However there is a stereo microphone input:
http://www.cnet.com/how-to/record-through-your-macbooks-headphone-jack/
It's actually the headphone jack, which is stereo and can be flipped as a stereo input (didn't know that).

For multiple sources.Hello everyone, this is my first time here. I recently purchased a macbook pro retina late 2013 notebook just over a month ago. It seems to be working just fine. I've installed bootcamp and installed windows 7. I use Speccy for my temperature monitor. I've played DayZ Standalone as well as L4D2. I noticed while playing both games on their lowest settings the CPU temperature consistently stays in the 90 degree celsius range often reaching 99 degrees celsius. I am fairly tech saavy and have a decent knowledge of computers.I bought the ThermaPak Heatshift pad in hopes of cooling it down but to no avail as it only does a great job at cooling everything else. This is my first laptop so I treat it like my baby ! haha I was wondering if these temp readings are normal because I know that even reaching 70 celsius can be somewhat damaging. Thank you for your assistance.
EDIT:
I've attached a screenshot of the temperature for proofSo I just got back from the apple store and wow, what rude service. The guy basically shrugged when I told him 'Well, I guess Im stuck with it huh?' after he told me there was no way I could get a refund. He performed a test and told me everything was fine and told me in a very arrogant manner that the test isn't showing the results I told them about as if I was lying....***? He said they can send it away for a few weeks but I don't have any other computer and I just bought this one for school so I can't afford to have it gone for that long. He told me 'doesn't your school have a computer lab'? Seriously, how can someone at Apple be this rude? I told him they do but its closed at 7 and I dont live on campus. How could a computer lab replace a personal computer? He basically kept shrugging rudely anytime I tried to find a solution. He didn't even reply with a single word. When I told him I called the call center and they told me that yes it is much too hot and to take it to the store after doing a fix he just chuckled and rolled his eyes. Really? I spent 1500 dollars on this computer to not even be able to do basic things on it without it overheating and the service is this bad? Well, looks like I won't ever be buying an apple product again even though before this experience I was a huge fan of all their products. I know one customer doesnt make a difference to them but come on...looks like I'm stuck with it and apple couldnt give one care. If having your hands uncomfortably hot after a small amount of time is acceptable then it looks like I'll never be buying another laptop from them. Its a shame I really liked it at first.
Hey everyone,
Ok so my Issue here, and I think I'm not the only one but my MacBook pro retina late 2013 (8GB ram, 256gb SSD) has been experiencing numerous issues after installing Yosemite. For example, the UI lag is at times horrible; after opening several apps, and especially after having a pdf or two open in preview everything becomes so sluggish. the animation of switching to mission control is painstakingly slow, and opening new tabs in safari takes 2 or 3 seconds. I've done a clean install of yosemite but nothing seems to help, what should I do; just revert back to mavericks and cross my finger for a future update?
Any help would be much appreciated, thanks so much !i am in the same situation as you, late 2013 retina MacBook Pro 15 inch upgraded to yosemite and then clean installed yosemite b/c of UI lag after opening several apps at once... I found that yosemite drained my battery life too, on mavericks i was getting 5-8 hrs of battery life, on yosemite i was getting like 2-3 hrs most.
After exhausting every option out there (apple store genius bar help, apple repair, etc), I came to the consensus that my macbook had no hardware problems at all, it's basically a software problem on apple's end. and until they update yosemite with a specific fix for the UI lag and the battery consumption problems, i am not going back to yosmemite.
what i did was clean installed back to mavericks... this solved every one of my problems, NO LAG, NO BATTERY ISSUES, back to buttery smooth performance, of course without the new UI however... but i can live without new design
this experience tells me several things: 1. the new apple under the leadership of cook is slowly but surely sacrificing quality of software for unnecessary updates(sales) 2. mac hardware is still good but who knows for how much longer
